Community Support

Volunteers Week 2026 (June 1-7 )

Celebrating the people who make a difference every day

At Headway Black Country, Volunteers Week is a special opportunity to recognise and celebrate the incredible people who give their time, compassion and skills to support people affected by brain injury.

Every conversation, activity, event and moment of support delivered by our volunteers helps improve the lives of individuals and families across the Black Country. Our volunteers are not simply helpers, they are listeners, encouragers, fundraisers, advocates and valued members of the Headway Black Country family.

Whether supporting rehabilitation activities, helping at community events, assisting with fundraising or simply being there for someone who needs support, volunteers help us reach more people and create a stronger, more connected community.

Why Volunteers Matter

Volunteers play a critical role within charities and community organisations across the UK. For many people affected by brain injury, having access to support, companionship and understanding can make a life-changing difference.
At Headway Black Country, our volunteers help us:

Support people rebuilding confidence after brain injury
Assist with community activities and support groups
Raise awareness about brain injury and rehabilitation
Support fundraising and charity events
Strengthen connections within local communities
Help families and carers feel supported and understood

Their contribution helps us continue delivering essential services to those who need them most.

Get Involved

We are always looking for passionate and caring individuals who want to support our work. You do not need previous experience to become a volunteer. We welcome people from all backgrounds who are committed to making a positive difference.
